Chapter

First part : 2 : 3

Observed lessons

  • Use your strongest soldiers to kill their generals and capture their flag.
  • Put your strongest soldiers together in one powerful unit. Fete them and make them feel good.
  • Promote those who are good with weapons and motivated to use them.
  • Use rewards and punishments wisely to shape their motivation.

Discussion

A perennial question is where to use your best people, as they are always wanted everywhere. The answer is to use them for important tasks where they can have the greatest effect. It is a trap to think that because they are the best, they will motivate themselves. The reality is that everyone likes to be appreciated, and that appreciation of the best makes them even better.
