Description

Keep their minds busy by getting them to engage in some kind of mathematical calculation. This can include addition, subtraction, division, percentage and so on.

If they are struggling you can offer help and follow up with a close.

Example

We could do it in 21 days. What day of the week us that?

I'll offer 14% discount on top of the reduced price. First person to raise their hand, it's yours.

If you'll take five it's 10% off, or 230 off for ten.

Discussion

Few people are great arithmeticians and may struggle when having to do even the simplest calculation. They may also be embarrassed by this limitation and hence not ask for help.
