DescriptionShow that you care, throughout your presentation and in many and subtle different ways. Show that you care about your subject by speaking expressively and with passion. Show you care about the audience by listening to them. Show care for other speakers by referencing them. Show care for your hosts by thanking them. Also show care about customers, society and the world at large. ExampleIn speaking about change I talk with passion about how I hate waste and how we need to create ever-increasing customer value to beat our competitors and serve our stakeholders. I show care for the audience by offering them ideas they can use and listening intently to their questions then answering them as best as I can. DiscussionWhen you show you care about a subject, you indicate that it is important, encouraging others to pay attention and also value the subject. The alternative in a cold presentation of the facts is a subtle indicator that you can take it or leave it. Showing you care about the audience and others that the audience cares about creates harmony and encourages them to adopt your concern also. Showing passion sometimes needs a certain amount of courage, particularly if the subject is controversial or is seen as uninteresting.
