Conspiracy theories are ideas that organizations, from ordinary companies to global cabals, are doing something wrong and then hiding this fact. 'Conspiracy Theory', for many, has come to mean crackpot paranoia. For those accused of conspiracy, it is a useful dismissal of accusations as foolish. For those who propose the theories, the dismissal is just further proof.
