Eat. Drink. Worry a bit.

I saw a person carrying a paper coffee cup a little while ago. Printed on it was the brand message 'Puccino's. Eat. Drink. Worry a bit.' Worry a bit?? Now what is that all about?

The answer to that curious question is this little blog. I was interested, startled even, by the message. It grabbed my attention and I spent quality time trying to figure what it was all about. I even visited the Puccino's website. Turns out they've made an art form of humour.

Why does it work? In short, the method uses a combination of the Von Restorff Effect, the Recency Effect, the Contrast Principle and the Pique Technique, all of which together say 'Make yourself stand out. Be different. Get them thinking.'

And with such a battery of methods so concisely applied, it is perhaps unsurprising that it worked. So next time I see Puccino's, will I think 'Coffee' or will I think 'Worry?' Sadly, I won't have the chance. Puccino's seems to have gone bust. So I'm now only worried about the poor folks who lost their jobs and their business.
